Christmas Party

Thank you so much to Mrs. Roy for organizing our party and for each of you that sent in supplies or came in to help!! I appreciate you all so much!! Here are a few pictures of our fun day! The kids got to color pictures of Santa, make a Christmas Tree, play Bingo, decorate cookies, and play Charades. It was a great day!! I also wanted to say thank you for the wonderful gifts. I fell so loved and appreciated! I hope you all have a very Merry Christmas and a wonderful New Year!

First we started our day with letters from Santa!! Thank you to Mrs. Mitchell's classes for helping us out :).

Opening presents from Mrs. Martindale and Mrs. Rice!
The crayons stayed at school but the two books hopefully made it home!

Week of December 17th

Can you believe it is the last week before Christmas break? This year is just flying by! We will be celebrating Christmas in our class this Friday at 1:30. I just have one more gift to wrap for each kiddo, and I am ready ;). We will also be having a pajama day on Friday so your kiddo is welcome to wear their pj's as long they meet modesty rules!

Sight Words:
We have five new words this week. They are:

  1. do
  2. for
  3. of
  4. are
  5. good

Math:
We will continue reviewing addition and subtraction this week. We took a test on it last week so that I could see how they are doing. I feel it is beneficial to keep working on it a little longer :).

Behavior:
It is not uncommon for behavior to be more of a struggle the week before Christmas, with all the excitement for Christmas and break it is understandable! However, we still have expectations of our students to make good choices. Our party is this Friday and I look forward to celebrating with them! Please encourage your child to make good choices so that they can celebrate too!

Week of December 10th

Sorry I am a day late getting this posted, I was home with sick babies yesterday.

Sight Words:
This week we have 6 new words instead of 5. They are:

  1. she
  2. her
  3. by
  4. my
  5. small
  6. all

Math:
We will be continuing to work on addition and subtraction this week. We will also be taking a post test to see how we are doing on this. We are working hard on being able to do both of them in different ways.

Snow Day Packet:
Your student is bringing home a packet of work that says "Snow Day Packet" on it. This is a packet of work for your student to work on in the case of excessive snow days. After the Snowpocolypse of 2016, we have started preparing ahead of time. Please make sure this packet gets put away in a safe place. In the case of a snow day, please check your email for further instructions from me. I will also be emailing you an electronic copy of the packet so that if you lose it, you can print it at home. All of our make up work will be done in this packet so that the high school siblings will have access to computers if needed.

Christmas Party:
Our Christmas Party will be next Friday the 21st at 1:30. Our Room Mom, Mrs. Roy, is planning that for me (yay!!). She will be reaching out to those of you who volunteered to help with parties so keep an eye out for those emails. Be sure to check your spam folders ;).

Week of December 3rd

Welcome to December! This is my favorite time of year in kindergarten! We have so many fun things planned :).

Sight Words:
We have five new sight words this week. They are:

  1. as
  2. is
  3. has
  4. now
  5. down

Math:
This week we are continuing our work on subtraction and being able to show how we subtract in different ways.

Warm Clothes:
Please make sure your child brings a coat to school every day. It is cold out and we go outside every day. If your child is well enough to be at school, they are well enough to go outside so we don't leave anyone inside. If they forget a coat, I have them grab a coat from the lost and found on the way out. If you need help getting them warm winter clothes, PLEASE LET ME KNOW! I would love to help you!

Warm Weather Clothing Drive:
Vision Charter is partnering with Boise Rescue Mission this Holiday season to collect warm socks, gloves or mittens, and warm hats for children and teens of all ages.  These items need to be new; used items will not be able to be accepted. You may drop off any of these items to the collection barrel in our main entrance.

Book Order:
I sent home book orders last week. The order has to be submitted by the 10th to guarantee delivery by the 20th. If you would like to order books as Christmas gifts, please email me and let me know. I will set them aside and send them to the office so that you can pick them up there without your student knowing.

REMINDER! NO SCHOOL THIS FRIDAY! There is no school this Friday the 7th. Teachers will be here for in-service, but the kiddos get a nice long weekend :).

Week of November 26th

Welcome back from Thanksgiving Break! I hope you all had a restful time with lots of family and good food! Each student got to share their favorite part of their break today, and it sounded like you all had a wonderful time!

Sight Words:
Our words this week are:

  1. what
  2. was
  3. with
  4. will
  5. here

Math:
We are picking up where we left off with addition and then we will be moving into subtraction this week. You may have noticed that we are working on all of the different ways we can add. One of the things we do in class is look for ways that each method is similar and ways it is different.

Book Order:
Our book order for November will be in this week. If any of those are Christmas gifts, please let me know and I will make sure to set them aside. I will put them in the office so that you can pick them up there without your student knowing :). I will be doing one more order for December, but it will only be open for a week so that we can be sure to get them back before break.

Music Program:
Just in case your student's note for the music program doesn't make it home today, I will put it here too!

"The kindergarten and first grade classes are very excited to share their hard work with you this Friday at 10:00 a.m. in our gym. Due to limited space, we are happy for IMMEDIATE family to join us and feel free to video the performance to share with extended family throughout the holiday season. We will begin checking guests for the audience in through the main door at 9:15 a.m. Please have your driver's license ready to help us expedite the check in process for everyone. Students may wear Christmas outfits for the program. One of our numbers can make use of blow horns that are used at birthday and New Year's Eve parties. Students may bring those any time this week labeled with their name. Thank you so much, and we'll see you Friday!"

Week of November 12th

This week we are starting out our last week before Thanksgiving Break. This year seems to be flying by! Next year we have no school Monday the 19th through Friday the 23rd. I am hoping you all have a restful Thanksgiving!

Sight Words:
This week we have five new words. They are a little tricky so make sure you spend some extra time with your kiddos working on them this week. Our words are:
  1. the
  2. that
  3. there
  4. this
  5. they
Math:
We are continuing our work on addition this week. We included some extra credit math homework attached to your child's regular homework. It is a turkey color by addition and it is a little harder than what we have been doing in class. If your child would like to do the extra credit they are more than welcome to! It is worth 10 points which would make up for any missing assignments your kiddo might have. All homework is due after Thanksgiving Break on Monday the 26th.

Social Studies:
We are finishing up our unit on the First Thanksgiving this week. Your student should be able to talk to you about why the pilgrims came to America, who helped them when they got here, and how they celebrated. This week they are making a map that shows where the Mayflower traveled.

Book Order:
Book orders are due by this Friday. If you would like to order books as Christmas or birthday gifts, please let me know and I will send them up to the office for you to pick up.

Canned Food Drive:
Our school is nearing the end of our annual canned food drive. Our class has only gathered a few cans of food to contribute. If you have any to spare at home, we would love to take them to help out some of our families here at Vision who could use some help over the holiday season. :)

Veteran's Day:
We will be learning about Veteran's Day this week as well. As a school we are honoring a different branch of the military each day. Tomorrow your student is invited to where something white in honor of the Coast Guard. Don't feel like you have to go out and buy anything to participate!

Tuesday, November 13 - wear white to support the Coast Guard

Wednesday, November 14 - wear blue to support both the Air Force and the Navy

Thursday, November 15 - wear red to support the Marines

Friday, November 16 - wear green to support the Army

Week of November 5th

I just wanted to say thank you to all of you who made it to Parent/Teacher Conferences. I really enjoy being able to meet with each of you and talk about how wonderful your kiddo is! If you weren't able to make it, I am sending home their folder of information today. Please send back the checklist and self-reflection that are in the front of the cover. If you have any questions, please write them down on that checklist or email me!

Sight Words:
This week our words are longer and a little more tricky! Practicing them at home will really help!

  1. like
  2. have
  3. some
  4. come
  5. make
I talked to a few of you about doing the Phonogram Powerpoint with your student at home. Click here to go to the school website where you can download that presentation. Click on the link called "Spalding phonograms".  Having your student do this once a night at home is an awesome idea!

Math:
In math we started working on addition today! You will find some simple addition problems on the back of their homework this week. Please do one or two a day.

Book Orders:
I am going to be sending home several book orders today and tomorrow. The holiday catalogs are out and I wanted to make sure to give you the opportunity to get some of your Christmas shopping done this way! Books make great gifts and stocking stuffers! If you are ordering books as gifts, please email me so that I don't send them home with your student :).

Week of October 29th

It's crazy to think that October is already almost over! This week is going to be a very busy week here at Vision!

Sight Words:
This week we have 5 new sight words. They are a bit trickier than previous words so please make sure to help your child with them at home. Encourage them to look for them in books or signs as you are driving down the road.

  1. you
  2. see
  3. will
  4. play
  5. look

Math:
This week we will be testing on all of the things we learned during Quarter 1. I will not be introducing any new concepts this week, but please continue to review those math concepts from the list I sent home earlier.

Social Studies:
This week in Social Studies your student is beginning our Thanksgiving unit! It is so much fun and the kids learn so much about the history of our country and being thankful. :)

Family Farmstead Harvest Festival:
VCS Harvest Festival tonight at the Farmstead!  If you mention Vision Charter, you will get a discounted rate of $6.00 admission.  Families and students can get the discounted rate anytime between 4:00-8:30 tonight.  Meet at the pig barn at 6:30 and watch either Mrs. O or Mr. Casey Boothby kiss the pig!  There will be a raffle table set up outside the main entrance.  All raffle tickets are on sale for $1.00 each.  You can win a drone, a couple of gift baskets, or a wooden outdoor play house!  You do not need to be present to win.

Book Celebration:
We will be having our Robin Hood Book Celebration party this Wednesday. We have had a change in Room Moms as our first mom moved! Your child is welcome to come to school in costume on Wednesday as long as it is a character from our book Robin Hood. :)

Parent/Teacher Conferences:
This Friday is our day to conference. If I have specific concerns for your student's progress, you should have gotten an email requesting a one on one conference. If I don't have concerns, you got an email inviting you to drop in anytime between 3 and 7 for student led conferences. I will still be here to answer any questions. You will be getting your student's report card at that time as well as information on how they did on the IRI. The IRI is different this year and gives much more information into how your student is progressing. Please come and hear about your student's growth and work! It is very important to them that they get to share it with you!

Week of October 22nd

Welcome back from Fall Break! I am hoping you all had a wonderful break! I was so excited to see all of my cuties again today! We all shared what we did over Fall Break and it sounds like everyone had a great time!

Sight Words:
We have no new sight words this week. We are spending time reviewing the words that we learned before fall break. Please help your student practice reading these words at home.

Math:
This week we are continuing to work work on counting and cardinality. We are really working on being able to write our numbers from memory to at least 30. We are focusing on the patterns of numbers and how they can use those patterns to help them figure out what comes next.

Parent/Teacher Conferences:
This Wednesday the 24th is the end of  Quarter 1. We will begin doing our quarterly assessments the end of this week and beginning of next week. We will use this data for report cards. Next Friday, November 2nd there is NO SCHOOL because we will be doing Parent/Teacher Conferences. I will contact you by email and request a one on one conference if I have concerns, or invite you to a drop in student led conference if your student is doing well.

Career Week:
This week is career week at school and we will be talking about college and what we want to be when we grow up. The following is from Mrs. Dowski:
"For K-5th grade students, we will have a "Dress as Your Favorite Career" Day. We will have prizes for class participation (1 winning room) based upon number of students dressed up and several individual prizes for "Best Dressed"..."

Book Order:
I will be submitting our book order at the end of the school day tomorrow if you would like to order books. This is a great way to get Christmas and birthday gifts covered. If you want the books you order to be gifts, please send me an email and I will tuck them away until I can get them to you without your student knowing :).

Week of October 8th

Welcome back to another full week of kindergarten! I hope you had a restful weekend!

Sight Words:
This week we have six new words instead of five because they all follow the same pattern. This week our words are:

  1. no
  2. go
  3. be
  4. me
  5. he
  6. we

Math:
This week in math we are continuing to work on counting by ones and tens and identifying numbers. I sent home a checklist a couple of weeks ago that had all the things we are working on for this quarter in math. My hope is that you will pick an item or two every couple of days and practice it with your student so that you have an idea of how they are progressing.

Art:
This week our class is working on the art element color by studying Norman Rockwell. Your student will be creating works of art using color. They will also be learning about how Norman Rockwell  used color.

Book Orders:
I will be sending home another book order tomorrow. Just a reminder that the come home monthly and there is NO PRESSURE for you to buy them! I tell my class that they can show them to you, but if mom and dad say no, that is ok!

Picture Retake Day:
Picture Retake Day is this Friday the 12th. If you would like your student to retake their pictures, just send back the picture packet you received and we will get that taken care of. Also, it isn't too late to order pictures from their website.

COLLECTING ITEMS FOR RAFFLE AND SILENT AUCTION:

If you have any items that you are able to donate to the school for us to use to raffle off or have as part of our silent auction during the Harvest Festival at the Farmstead on October 29, 2018, please email shereeboothby@visioncsd.org.  We are not able to accept baked goods.  This year the Harvest Festival is in lieu of the spring carnival and we appreciate your support and generous donations.

Week of October 1st

It is hard to believe that we are already in October and just a few weeks out from the end of the first quarter! Quarter 1 ends on the 24th. We also have Fall Break this month. There is no school the 15th-19th for Fall Break. Because attendance for the first quarter determines our schools budget for the year, we really encourage you to have your student in school every day! Please use Fall Break for doctor appointments and vacations if at all possible!

Sight Words:
We have five new sight words this week. They are:

  1. big
  2. him
  3. and
  4. not
  5. got

Math:
Last week I sent home a checklist of all of the skills we are working on this quarter. This are the things that will be on your student's first report card. Feel free to work through them with your student periodically to get an idea of where they are at. If you have any concerns, please let me know.

Homework:
Your student should have brought home this week's homework in their Home Folder today. I tried really hard to go around and make sure each student go their homework from their mailbox and into their folder :). It takes practice! I am keeping track of their homework completion through Infinite Campus which means you can track that  grade on your Parent Portal. If you have never heard of the Parent Portal, please contact Mrs. Brown to get your code. I can walk you through how to use it as well, I just don't have access to your code.

Please feel free to email me with any questions or concerns!

Week of September 24th

Welcome back from a long weekend! I hope it was restful!

Sight Words:
We have 5 new sight words this week. They are:

  1. did
  2. get
  3. yes
  4. can
  5. had
Science
Last week your student did their investigation on the pumpkin they brought in. They got to choose some seeds and put it in a bag so that we can watch the roots begin to grow! When the roots begin to grow, we will send them home and you are welcome to plant them or toss them :) Here they are in our window!

Transportation Changes:
Please remember that if your child will be going home a different way that usual you MUST call or email the office. Please don't email me on the off chance that I am home sick or haven't had a chance to check my email until the end of the day. Please don't just show up at the end of the day thinking we can just grab them off of the bus, sometimes that doesn't work out and the buses get dismissed before we get to your car.

School Wide Book Celebration:
Each year our school chooses a book that every grade level will read and celebrate at the end of October. On our Book Celebration Day (October 31st) we will have a party and your student is invited to dress up like a character from the book. No weapons and modesty rules do apply.

Homework
Your student will bring home their 3rd week of homework today. If they have not turned in their homework for the last two weeks, please help them get that in. It is a grade on their report card. I encourage them to keep it in their Home Folder on the "Return to School" side as a safe place. I won't take it out until it is due.

Monday, September 17, 2018

Week of September 17th

Welcome back to another fun week in kindergarten! This week our kiddos will get to investigate the pumpkins that were brought in. They will count the seeds in their pumpkin and get to plant some of them. I love this time of year!

Discipline Plan:
I wanted to let you know about a slight change in our discipline plan. At the beginning of the year I told you that after 3 Refocus's your student would be referred to administration to handle discipline. That is now changing to 5. Your student will still get a refocus that looks like this when they have been reminded 3 times for the same thing.
We still want to use this with our students because they are meaningful to them and help them understand what the teacher's expectations are. Stapled to the back of it will be an "Incident Report" that looks like this.

You will get a pink and yellow copy home. Please send the pink one back signed and keep the yellow one. I will circle which is which at the bottom to help you remember. These go to the office to be tracked and after the 5th one, administration will step in. This will allow us to do the same thing as the rest of the school, but still have it be meaningful for the kids. Let me know if you have any questions about this.

Reading:
This week in reading we have 4 new sight words and 1 left over from last week. We spend 2 weeks with the word "an" because kiddos want to say "and" and we want to make sure they know the difference. :)

  1. up
  2. I
  3. on
  4. a
  5. an
Math:
During math this week we will be investigating numbers 0-10. Your student will also be practicing writing their numbers on the back of their homework.

Homework:
Your student's homework from last week was due today. If they forgot to send that in, please have them send it back in tomorrow. This is a part of your student's grade quarterly.

Monday, September 10, 2018

Week of September 10th

Welcome back to our first full five day week of kindergarten! Things are going so well here and my class is really doing a great job of figuring out how to be at school :).

Sight Words:
Your student started their first list of sight words this week! We have five words that we are working on. They are:

  1. it
  2. at
  3. in
  4. us
  5. an
Later these words will become their spelling words too, but for right now we are just focusing on reading them. Please help your student look for these words in real life! They are always so excited when they notice one of them on a sign or magazine :).

Lunch:
We are having some confusion with lunch bags. We are teaching the kids let us know if they have a lunch from home or school by having them move a magnet to the appropriate place on the board. Some of them have been confused and don't move their magnet to the school lunch side because they are bringing a lunch box from home that just has a small snack in it. Then we don't get their lunch from the cafeteria on time, and it limits the time they have to eat. If your student is bringing a snack from home, please clarify to them in the morning that it is not their whole lunch and they still need to get a lunch at school. We don't want any hungry tummies!

Science:
Our  class will be starting one of my favorite science units this week! They are going to be learning all about the life cycle of the pumpkin! They will learn fun little songs, make and read books, and draw pictures of the life cycle. Next week they will be planting their own pumpkin! If you are able, please send in a small pumpkin on Monday the 17th. If you are unable to buy a pumpkin, please let me know and we will make sure your student has one here at school! These pumpkins should be about the size of a baseball.

Homework:
Your student is bringing home their first week of homework in their Homework Folder today. I told the kids that they can leave it on the "Return to School" side of their folder and I will leave it in there and collect in next Monday the 17th when it is due. That way it is in a safe place and doesn't get lost. If you do lose it, let me know and I will send another home. :)

Bathroom Use:
Bathrooms are always a new thing for kindergartners. We make sure that they have two scheduled times a day when the whole class goes to the bathroom. We also encourage them to go during their recesses because we walk right past the bathroom on our way out to the playground. If they need to use the restroom during class, they hold up one finger to let the teacher know. We always let them go when they need to, we may have them wait a few minutes if we have two other students out using the bathroom, but let them go as soon as possible. I also remind students to use the restroom at the end of the day before we head out. Please talk to your student about appropriate bathroom behavior and using the bathroom when it is offered. I obviously cannot be in there with my students so I talk to them before they go in about expectations. It's normal for kiddos this age to try to look under stalls or play in the bathroom. We just talk about how that isn't appropriate :).

Week of September 4th

I hope you all enjoyed your long weekend with your kiddos! We are back in the swing of things here!

Snacks:
Please make sure you take a look at the calendar on the back of your student's folder to see when you need to send in snacks each month. I have some extras, but not a lot so we could end up in a pickle if you forget to send in snacks on your day. Please try to send in something that feeds our brains (nothing sugary :) ).

Social Studies:
Your student's Family Crest was due back on Tuesday, September 4th. If they did not get that in, please help them to get it done and turned in as quickly as possible.

Art:
This month your student will be learning about the artist Jackson Pollock. They will also be learning about the element "line". They will be doing different activities with that throughout the week!

Character Trait:
This month we are studying the character trait Trustworthiness. Your student is invited to wear blue on Friday, September 7th to show that they are "true blue" trustworthy!

Picture Day:
Your student is bringing home a picture packet in their home folder today. Pictures will be on Friday, September 14th. You can fill out that form and send it back with money, or you can order online and send in the receipt with your student.

Home Folders:
Please help your student remember to bring their Home Folders every day. This is part of our learning Responsibility in kindergarten. I look through them every day to check for notes from you. It is very important that your student bring it to school every day.

End of the First Week

I can hardly believe the first week of kindergarten is over! We worked hard to learn how to be at school. Your sweet kids have done so well and worked so hard! Kindergarten is a fun place to be, but it's not like home. We have to be more structured and follow certain rules so that we can all function in our classroom.

Calendar:
Please check out the calendar on the back of your student's folder. It has important dates for the month on it as well as the student's name on the date you signed up to send in snacks. Please remember to send in healthy snack options that feed little brains for learning :).

Book Orders:
Your student will bring home book orders each month. The date they come home and the date they are due back are on the calendar. I always let students know that parents might say "no" this month, and that is ok! Please don't feel pressured to buy anything. I always offer this to parents as it is a great way to build libraries at home with age appropriate books for very little cost. You can order books online by clicking the link to the right of my blog. The code for my class should be listed on the flyer your student brought home. Our class earns free books with every purchase you make, so it is a win-win!

Jackets:
I told my class today that they are welcome to bring in a jacket to keep in their back pack. I keep the classroom on the cooler side to help keep germs at bay. They are welcome to wear their jacket in class if they need to.

Family Crests:
Mrs. Rice sent home their Family Crest assignment yesterday. They are due on Tuesday, September 4th. Please help your child get these done and turned in so that they can share them with the class!

This week has been fantastic! Please email me if you have any concerns or questions!

Wonderful First Day!

We had a wonderful first day of kindergarten! I am so excited to continue getting to know your sweet kids! Today we worked on the rules, transitions, and practicing walking in line. We will keep working on getting to know each other and practicing how to be at school through out the week. I am sorry I didn't get a chance to take any pictures today for the blog, we were too busy! But I know this year is going to be great, our magic play dough said so!

Harvest Festival:Harvest Festival is Monday, October 29th 6:30-8:30 at the Farmstead! We will be having items to raffle/silent auction off as well as one of our Administrators will be kissing the pig at 7:30pm! Admission for this event is discounted to $5.66 per person (plus tax). The Farmstead will donate $1.00 per admission back to our school. If you are interested in donating any items for our raffle or silent auction, please email shereeboothby@visioncsd.org. No food items are able to be accepted. Thank you!

Class DojoBe looking in your child's folder for a flyer about Class Dojo. It is a point system I use in class that helps my students redirect themselves. They hear a specific sound for either a point gained or a point lost and I teach them to self evaluate when they hear either sound to see if it could have been them, and then adjust accordingly if needed. You will get a code for your child that lets you see if they earned or lost any points for that day. Some days they won't have any points because I just can't give points for every little thing :).

Thank you for entrusting your little one to me this year! I love them each already!

Welcome to Kindergarten!

Image result for welcome to kindergarten clipart

Hello parents and families! I am so excited for this school year! Kindergarten is so much fun and Mrs. Rice and I are looking forward to all the great times we are going to have!

In an effort to make sure everyone is on the same page, I am going to put all the information that I gave you at our meetings in this post. I worry that I didn't tell everyone all the things I was supposed to remember, and some information changed after I already met with some of you. Please read through this blog and email me with any questions or concerns!

First Day of School:
This is one of the big changes for some of you! Due to our security measures parents will NOT be able to walk kindergartners down to the class on the first day of school. I know this can be difficult and I am sorry. Student safety is our number 1 priority! Between the front doors (where you will drop your student off at) and my classroom door there are 5-6 adults stationed looking for the little ones and ready to help them to class. Older siblings may also walk them to class. Hopefully because they have been here for pre-screeners, Meet the Teacher Night, and our beginning of the year meetings, your kiddo will feel confident and ready to come to school!!

Me Bag:
I gave your student their "Me Bag" when I met with you this week. I explained everything to them, but I figured I would let you know a few pointers as well :). Everything they bring (a max. of 5 items) should fit in the bag. These bags may stay at school a week or two so don't send anything that is super important to them! They can draw a picture or take a picture of an item that needs to stay home or won't fit. They will be sharing these with the class so having them practice at home first might be a good idea :).

Take Home Folders:
One of the things we emphasize with the kids is that their take home folder is THEIR responsibility, not the parent's. Please encourage them to take charge of their folder. This is one small step of teaching them responsibility. Part of that is taking care of the folder so that it lasts all year. If it is treated well, this folder should work well the whole school year! If it is lost or broken, we don't have any replacements because they are pretty expensive.

Snacks:
Thank you to everyone who signed up for a day to bring in snacks! Keep an eye on the calendar on the back of your student's folder, I will put your student's name on the date you are signed up to bring snacks in. We currently have 23 students.

Please send in healthier snacks. Our goal is to feed our brains, not just our bellies. No fruit snacks or sugary options please.

Water Bottles:
We encourage kids to bring water bottles to school! If you send them on Monday, we will send them back home on Friday to be washed. We don't like to send kiddos into the hall to get drinks if we don't have to and cups get spilled on our work :). If you don't have a water bottle with a lid that doesn't leak, and you don't have a way to get one, please let me know and I will help you out!

Transportation Changes:
If your student will be going home a different way than usual, please call the school office at 208-455-9220 or email Mrs. Brown at crystalbrown@visioncsd.org . It is best if all route changes come through the office.

Lunch:
Your student will be eating lunch in the classroom at 10:45. Please make sure that if they bring a lunch from home it is something they can just take out and eat. We don't have the ability to reheat anything for them.

Volunteering:
We will start coordinating our weekly volunteers for centers in a couple of weeks. We work hard to establish our classroom routine before we have parents in our classroom.  I have already found a Room Mom who will work to plan our class parties, but she will need helpers! If you would like to help with class parties please email me and let me know. I will put together a list of your names and contact info to share with our Room Mom.

Daily Schedule:
Bell Rings: 8:07
Tardy: 8:10
Lunch: 10:45-11:15
Specials: 11:15-11:45
Dismiss: 3:05

Remember, Mrs. Rice will be with my class until 11:30 when I get here and then she goes next door with Mrs. Harmon's class. Because of this, email is the best way to get in touch with me. I will email you back within 48 hours. This is going to be a great year!
